I’ve rated well over 60 rums for taste and value. I have been surprised how many outstanding rums I've found--and how much better many are than what I had been drinking. The First Rum--Bacardi 8--Thanksgiving, 2007--Port Aransas At the beach, I had to have my own special drink. Rum & Diet Coke. Just rum seemed too plain for the occasion, so with the able assistance of my son-in-law Clint I tried Bacardi 8. RIght away I knew there was a difference I could buy between rums. I just had to discover the value point and the brand. How hard could that be? Evidenced by there being 64 other rums in my rum log so far, and the quest still going into its fifth year--I must say, " hard liquor demands hard work if I want to find the very best rum."
